Ed Albert (WPMT), Executive Producer
Ed is currently the EP at WPMT in York, PA. Prior to joining FOX43, Ed was a producer at WHTM, WJAC, and WPXI. He also worked as an assignment editor and digital assignment editor. Ed has finished his first two-year term on the board.
As an experienced female sports video editor for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Sydney aims to bring a fresh and unique perspective to the NATAS Board of Governors. Five years ago, She was a previous college student production award recipient in 2019 while attending Duquesne University. She’s been part of a passionate storytelling team for the Pittsburgh Penguins for the last three years.
Allie Berube (WHTM) Sports Director
Allie Berube joined the ABC27 Sports in June 2018. She previously worked as a sports anchor/reporter at their sister station WDVM in Hagerstown, Md. Allie was born and raised in Fairfax, VA, and is thrilled to be reporting close to home. Allie graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, receiving a degree in broadcast and digital journalism with a concentration in sports management. During her time at Syracuse, Allie was a reporter for Syracuse University Athletics. She is most passionate about sharing local athletes’ stories of triumph and struggle. She has started ABC27 Sports first series highlight women and girls in sports called “Like a Girl.”
Chris Bohinski (WBRE) Anchor
Chris knows the power & value of a smile is strong! Bohinski strives to treat those around him with kindness and compassion and has a daily goal of making people smile. For the past 4 years, Chris has hosted and produced northeastern Pennsylvania’s only lifestyle show, “PA Live” on WBRE-TV. Thinking of all of the types of folks that may happen to tune into the lifestyle show or newscast (he also fills in as anchor from time-to-time in addition to creating various light-hearted news packages) on any particular day, Chris uses his fast-acting creative approach and humor as a way to make every show (for guests, for viewers, and the production crew) a memorable experience.

Bob Gillmer (North Penn), Coordinator of Communications Media
Bob attended IUP and began his career in television news at CNN International. Gillmer has spent over 25 years as Coordinator of Communications Media at North Penn School District. He came to the Mid-Atlantic region as a technical director and editor at (then) KWY-TV in 1998. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Delaware Valley University and freelance broadcaster for RF Tech. Bob is an advisor of the broadcast journalist program at North Penn High School and has had multiple student production award winners.
Ana Hernandez (Telemundo62) News Director
Ana has been the news director at Telemundo 62 for almost 5 years after being promoted from assistant news director. Ana worked as an executive producer at Telemundo in Puerto Rico for 15 years. Ana has served on the Board of Governors for two years.
Ashley Johnson (CBS Philadelphia) EP of Impact on Communities
Ashley has been at CBS Philadelphia for over two years after several years at WPVI-TV. She attended Northwestern and was an intern for six summers at WPHL learning various aspects of the industry. started reporting in before coming to WPHL in Philadelphia. Johnson spent over a decade as a reporter in Atlanta, New York, and Houston before returning to Philadelphia in 2020.
Nick Matoney (WTAE) Executive Producer
Nick graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh and had his first job at WDTV in Clarksburg, WV, before landing at WTAE. Nick started as a producer and was promoted to Executive Producer in 2015. Nick has served as an adjunct professor at his alma mater as well as a previous stint on the Board of Governors where he was active as membership chair and social media chair.
Terri Murray (WHYY) CCO
Terri is the Chief Content Officer and Vice President of Programming and Production at WHYY. Since 2017, Murray has been overseeing broadcast, radio, and digital studio platforms. A National Emmy Award-winning content producer, director, and storytelling strategist, she has spearheaded impactful initiatives such as the monthly news Civic Engagement series, Community Conversations, addressing pressing societal issues like the gun crisis, reparations, and Asian hate crimes. Murray has established the Young Creators Studio program, a testament to her commitment to empowering young minds to explore their creative potential and develop valuable skills in media production and storytelling, ensuring a bright future for the industry. Before her role at WHYY, Murray was an Executive Producer and Director of Development and Original Programming for renowned networks, including Discovery Networks, TV One Networks, and Scripps Networks. Her experience across commercial TV and public broadcasting realms has enriched her professional journey and instilled in her a profound appreciation for the transformative power of storytelling.
Ben Payavis (WVIA) CCO & EP
As Chief Content Officer and Executive Producer at WVIA, Ben Payavis II oversees content strategy, development, and execution for all WVIA platforms, including television, radio, and digital and WVIA News. Payavis earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Cinema, Television, and Media Production from the Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. He has been a content creator for his entire career, starting as a commercial producer and producer manager before transitioning to WVIA Public Media over 25 years ago. Ben is a Seven-Time Emmy Mid-Atlantic Award-winning Producer/Director and a Fifteen-Time Emmy nominee.
Lisa Smith (KDKA) Director of Community Impact
Lisa Smith is the Director of Community Impact at KDKA-TV and KDKA+. She is the first person at the station to hold the role, which aims to highlight the voices of underserved communities around Western Pennsylvania. She started with the station in March of 2022; and in February 2023, she launched the station’s new weekly community affairs show, “Intersections,” which features community members and newsmakers sharing solutions and innovative ideas to build and enhance the Pittsburgh region. Lisa is an Emmy-nominated journalist with more than 25 years of experience working as a reporter and anchor in various cities including Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo, St. Louis and Dallas. Her coverage has included everything from Super Bowls to presidents. But it’s community stories that drive her journalistic passion.
Chelsea Strub- WNEP. Anchor/Reporter
Chelsea Strub has spent her entire career in the local broadcast industry. While studying at the University of Pittsburgh, Chelsea worked in the marketing and promotions department for KDKA-TV & WPCW. Following graduation, she spent four years working as promotional talent, a marketing producer and promotions editor for the station in the Steel City. In 2017, Chelsea decided to give the news side of the business a try. Starting at WNEP-TV in Northeastern Pennsylvania as a weekend reporter before covering the market’s most populous county, Luzerne County, full-time as a beat reporter in 2019 and through the pandemic. Now Chelsea is a weekend evening anchor, franchise producer and general assignment reporter for the WNEP. During her time at Newswatch 16, Chelsea has won two Pennsylvania Association of Broadcaster awards for her social media reporting and charity campaign participation and coverage.
